Q. What is the difference between fine silver and sterling silver?

A. The difference between the two has to do with purity and their wear characteristics. Fine silver can be tested to be 99.9% pure silver metal. Sterling Silver is an alloy - which is a mixture of metals. Sterling is 92.5% silver, and the rest is other metals - mostly copper. The addition of copper to silver makes it stronger, but has some drawbacks, such as tarnishing. Over time sterling silver will tarnish, so is best stored in an airtight environment (ziploc bag) preferrably with an anti-tarnish strip. The tarnish is generally easy to remove with a silver cleaning cloth, but the longer the tarnish is allowed to develop, the harder it is to clean. Fine silver will also tarnish, but rather than black, it takes on a mild goldish patina and seems to takes longer to happen.


Q. What thickness of sterling silver is used for the stamped items?

A. We use 20 gage thickness for discs and linear charms.  These are available in a 18 gage thickness that is use for items that are stamped on both sides.  Bangles are made from 18 gage flat wire.  Rings are 1mm to 1.5mm thick depending on the item.


Q. How long does it take for an order to be completed?

A. You should allow for up to 15 business days from the time of payment for orders to be completed.  Orders are mailed as they are completed, so it could be less than 15 business days, but there is no guarantee.  During busy seasons, it could take longer, but this will be indicated on the website.


Q. What if I need the item sooner?

A. If you need an item to be made and shipped out of the studio within two business days (via first class mail), a rush fee of 30% of the order will be charged. Please email joyce@dancignflowerstudio.com if you need to rush order something.


Q. Can you explain the FREE SHIPPING option?

a. All orders will ship free via USPS first class mail. This will take from  1-3 days (according to the USPS website).


Q. Are there additional shipping options?

A. Yes, items can also be shipped via UPS and FedEX at an additional charge.


Q. What is your return policy?

A. It is our goal to provide a high quality piece of jewelry that your or your loved one will cherish.  We want you to be happy, so we will do our best to make you happy.  Due to the custom nature of the items we produce, refunds and exchanges are not a normal occurrence and will be handled on a case by case basis. Please contact joyce@dancingflowerstudio.com within 7 days if you have any problems, and we will try to figure out a way to remedy the situation.

It is important that you understand that the items sold here are stamped or formed by hand, one peice, letter,or symbol at a time. As such variations in spacing and lettering will occur and should not be considered flaws, instead these variations add to the charm and uniqueness of the piece. These variations are characteristic of artisan work.
